The Perks of Being An SEO Specialist and SEO entrepreneur

What Is An SEO Specialist?

I remember explaining to my peers what my job is and what they think I do ranges from fixing computers to scamming people.

I'm not sure if I'm just bad at explaining, but for the non tech-savvy, SEO is a quite vague concept: you have to know how to write relevant, engaging content, know a bit of coding, and even have some web development know-how. It's a little bit of many things.

So, before we even being to explain what an SEO Specialist does, I think it's best if we define what 'SEO' means first.

SEO or Search Engine Optimization is the process of "optimizing" your website to get organic, un-paid traffic from search engines, the most well-known and used of which is Google.

SEO comes in many forms. It could be any or a combination of the following:

  • Improving a site's existing content for relevance
  • Improving a website's user-experience
  • Increasing loading speed
  • Building links and getting featured in relevant publications

There are many, more technical stuff, but these are the most common things an SEO Specialist does.

Perks of an SEO Specialist

Now let's go to the good stuff.

Being and SEO specialist has a few really good perks unlike any other career choice. Let's enumerate some of the juiciest ones!

1. You Own Your Time

SEO Specialists - or more appropriately, SEO entrepreneurs have more time in their hands. Most of the tasks involved in running a marketing campaign are actually quite repetitive and can be automated or delegated to a VA or a contractor. That means all an SEO entrepreneur really has to do is to supervise the campaigns and make sure everything is running smoothly.

That frees up a lot of time.  I've forgotten when was the last time I used an alarm clock to wake up for work.

There are a TON of snakes oil salesmen in the SEO industry, which makes creating a credible brand essential. Lesson 6 in our course is all about building a personal brand.

2. Income? Sky Is The Limit!

Unlike working a regular 9-to-5 where you have a fixed salary no matter how much your boss earns, SEO entrepreneurs' income is pretty much unlimited.

Once you have the entire SEO process figured out and you've automated and/or delegated parts of the process, you can proceed to scaling the business - that is, getting as many clients as your system can handle.

Currently, my outreach company manages about 5 clients. Each one pays at least $1000/month for a handful of high-quality links every month.

So really, the only limit to your income is how much you can handle.

3. Work Anywhere, Anytime

Some people would kill for a work-from-home setup, but SEO entrepreneurs have it a little bit better: They can work anywhere, anytime!

Working on a beach? No problem!

As a side note, I wouldn't recommend it though - WiFi connection is really bad and there's sand everywhere which is kind of scary for my laptop. Plus, it's not good for the back!

You can spend a month traveling the country and you can always take your work with you...as long as there is a stable internet connection. Everything about the job can be done in a laptop a place with a good WiFi connection.

4. More Time For Things You Actually Love

I always like to have a bit of free time to do my hobbies and travel that is why I am addicted to automation and delegation. They make things a lot easier for you.

Once you have these two things set up (which I will teach you in Lesson 6), you are good to go. Currently, I spend about 2 hours of work everyday just to check things and make sure each 'gear' is turning as it should be.

No Stressful Face-To-Face Meetings

Did I mention delegation and automation?

Yes? Well, it's because of these two that you don't really have to have weekly face-to-face meetings with your client. You can set reports to be automated (or you can delegate reporting to your VA) so you can keep all your clients happy.

These are just the sweet, sweet perks of being an SEO Entrepreneur?

Once you get the hang of the concepts and the processes, it's fairly easy to automate and delegate.
